Warren has been playing electric bass for 17 years and upright bass for 11 years. He began his musical journey in the San Francisco Bay Area playing piano at the age of eight. After experimenting with drums, saxophone, and vocals, Warren discovered the bass at age 12, which has been his voice of choice ever since. Warren attended USC School of Music from 1994 through 1998 where he had the opportunity to study jazz under such amazing musicians as John Clayton, Shelley Berg, Thom Mason, and others. During this time he strengthened his knowledge in classical music theory, jazz harmony and history. Warren also has plenty of studio and touring experience, which coupled with his Zen-like demeanor, make him an integral part of the new sound of the band. In 2003, Warren recorded bass tracks for what would later become Retro Transit Authority’s first EP release, “Late Arrival." In addition to playing bass for Retro Transit Authority, Warren continues to teach electric bass and record and perform with countless artists in Los Angeles and beyond. |
